With the increasing concerns about sickness in our community, I wanted to use this week’s blog post to talk about some simple tips to boost your immunity and help treat a sore throat using your kitchen staples, like honey.
Did you know you can purchase honey at Garden Gazebo located in MacArthur Center?
Not all honey is the same. We source ours from locals to ensure you receive the freshest honey possible because it can lose its healthy benefits when it is processed. Some benefits include:
Boosting Immunity
The phytonutrients in raw honey have anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties that can help your body fight sickness. To get an extra dose of Vitamin C, I like to put a teaspoon of honey and apple cider vinegar in a glass of freshly pressed orange juice. You can also make a cup of herbal tea (I love green tea!) with one or two teaspoons of honey.
Remedy for Sore Throats
A spoonful of honey will soothe your sore throat by coating your mucus membranes with a naturally thick and sticky coating.
