The top of the lantern features a solar panel that charges the included battery and turns on automatically at dusk once set to ‘on’. This lantern measures approximately 6 x 3.7 x 14.75 inches.
To change the battery, first, remove the metal hanger by popping it out from where it attaches to either side of the lantern. Flip the top over and unscrew the two small screws that are in the middle square portion. Remove the plastic cover and then you will have access to the battery.
